Hey Disney people! I was going to do some random post about Mickey Mouse today, but I thought of something better! To play on the title of the post today, my post is about something fabulous: Disneyland Lights. Both the lights themselves and the Instagram account.
So first off the lights themselves. Something that I love about Disneyland is their attention to detail. Sure they have elaborate rides and attraction, but the little things such as lighting through out the parks are all unique and special. Here are a few that I have taken photos of:
Now more importantly, I would never have thought of looking at these beautiful lights if it wasn’t for Dislights. Dislights is an amazing instagram account run my an amazing person named Angela. Not only does she spread the word about the various light fixtures around Disneyland, but she spreads her kindness throughout the Disney instagram community. She is a friend to all and although I still haven’t met her in person, she is a friend to me. I encourage everyone who reads this to go and follow her account because she and the account are magical! Here are a few of her photos from her account:
Happy Friday! I am continuing with my favorite series from before I started over, Food Friday. However, today is going to be a little bit different. While it isn’t quite food (actually its not but whatever), I wanted tell you guys about my favorite Youtube channel/Instagram account: Fresh Baked Disney. So I guess it is more like Fresh Baked Friday, but since they call their fans muffins I figured it fit the Food Friday theme somewhat. Anywho, enough of my rambling on about theme. lol
I first found Fresh Baked Disney about 3 years ago. I was exploring Youtube, trying to get a Disney parks fix since my pass had expired ,so I couldn’t go as often as I would have liked. Anywho, as soon as I found their account, I was hooked. Not only did they go around Disneyland, but they were fun to watch! Soon it became an everyday thing for me to sit down and watch their videos. It brought the Disney magic into my life on a daily basis as opposed on the rare occasions that I got to visit the parks myself. Whenever I had a bad day, I could go onto their channel and David and Sara (and now Mike) could cheer me up, and it is for that that I am glad that they do what they do.
Another thing that I absolutely love about the Fresh Baked team is how much they care about their muffins. While I have never had the opportunity to meet them in person myself, I have sent them messages through Instagram and they always have kind words in reply. Last year, I also received both a Christmas card and a Valentines card from them in , which is not something the typical youtube channel does. I will continue to follow them and watch their videos because they are awesome. I encourage every single person who reads this post to watch their videos (I have linked one down below) and invite them and their Disney love into your daily lives:)
Sorry there was no post yesterday…I thought that I clicked to publish, yet I didn’t and didn’t realize it until this morning.
One of my favorite things about Disneyland is the history. Throughout the years, Disneyland has gone through so many changes, and it is so interesting to me to see all that has. Thus, I am starting a weekly series of posts going through the different lands of Disneyland and seeing how they have changed. The first of the series, as you probably already read, is Main Street. Main Street, which was inspired by Walt Disney’s hometown, is the first thing you see when you walk into the park, so it just made sense that it would be the first.

It is here that a visitor to fabulous Disneyland, the multi-million dollar entertainment and recreation center envisioned by Walt Disney, will enter. The park, at Anaheim, California gets an ABC-TV preview today, and opens to the public tomorrow. Anaheim, California, USA

As a fun little bonus, here is also a time lapse video of the building of Main Street. I hope you enjoy!
So just the other day I went with my best friend Sarah to see Zootopia. I was excited about it because it was a Disney movie, yet at the same time I wasn’t sure what to expect. With the newer Disney movies, sometimes they are good and other times not so much. Anywho (Sara you can make fun of me for that later), I found the movie to be really gr9!(Another reference to and inside joke..just roll with it lol) I found myself laughing the whole time and the story, in true Disney fashion, had a great message about never giving up on your dreams. However, my favorite part of the movie was the references make to both Disney movies and outside pop culture. Here are just a few:
I think that if you have the chance you should go see this movie. It is definitely in my top favorites for Disney movies (although that list is a little long lol). If you have seen it, comment below your thoughts or any other references that I may have missed:) Have a magical day!
Hello! I’ve decided that I’m starting over. New theme, new posts, new pretty much everything. I will be updating the blog daily again after taking a long break. The time away from it made me re-think what I wanted the blog/site to look and be like. Since I am on a vacation from school, it seemed like a perfect opportunity! I will also be continuing my regular posts on Instagram. (@insidethemindofadisgeek). I hope that whoever reads my blog and enjoys it will continue to do so and will spread the word about it. I love doing this for myself, but it would make me so happy if others got joy from it as well. ❤
